AI consent and privacy
Before Shayr AI answers its first question you accept a consent screen that lists what is sent to the AI model. Consent is saved per person, and Shayr AI sees your whole household's numbers, not only yours.
What the consent screen says
The screen is titled Shayr AI. Under How it works it lists what is sent with your questions: net worth and balances, this month's spending by category, recent transactions with merchant names and amounts, recurring bills, savings goals and budgets, and family member names. Under Your privacy it says your data is sent securely and is not kept by the AI provider beyond generating your answer, and that you can use your own key or a local server instead. A yellow box says answers are not professional financial, tax or investment advice.

Things worth knowing
- Consent is per person. Each household member accepts for themselves.
- Shayr AI sees the whole household, including accounts linked by other members.
- Writing a House Rule in your own words uses the same consent, but sends only the sentence you type.
- There is no switch in the app to withdraw consent yet. To have it turned off, contact us.
- If you use your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, your data goes to that provider under your agreement with them. See Bring your own model.
Spending patterns, Insights, Wrapped and Money Date do not use AI. See the Privacy Policy for the legal detail.
