What Shayr can see and what it cannot do
Shayr can read balances and transactions from the accounts you link. It cannot move money, pay bills or change anything at your bank, and it never sees your bank username or password.
What Shayr reads from your bank
Through Plaid, for each account you link: the institution and account name, type, the last 4 digits, current and available balance, credit limit and currency. For transactions: amount, date, merchant name, category, location, payment method, whether it is pending and the account holder's name. Households on GOAT or the trial also receive investment holdings. For US accounts, loan and credit details are requested where available.
What it never sees or does
- Your bank login. You type it into Plaid's window and it stays with Plaid.
- It cannot transfer money, pay anything or open accounts. Access is read only.
- It does not sell your data. See the Privacy Policy.
What is encrypted
Your name, email and phone number, bank access tokens, account balances, institution names and merchant names are encrypted in Shayr's database with AES-256. Everything travels over HTTPS. Other fields, such as amounts, dates and categories, are stored without field level encryption.
Who else can see it
- Your household. Members see all linked accounts. See What everyone sees.
- Shayr AI. A summary goes to the AI model when you ask a question. See AI consent.
- Assistants you connect. Only what you allow, read only, on GOAT and the free trial. See Connect Claude.
- Feed links. Anyone who holds a link, on GOAT and the free trial. See Google Sheets link.
