What counts as a bank connection
A bank connection is one bank login that you linked through Plaid. One login with checking, savings and a mortgage under it counts as one connection, not three. Your household can have 3 connections on the trial, 7 on Bussin and 15 on GOAT.
One login, one connection
When you link a bank, you sign in once and choose which accounts to share. Those accounts all belong to that one sign in, so together they are one connection. A Chase login with a checking account, a savings account and a mortgage is one connection. Linking a second, separate bank is a second connection.
The app often says banks or accounts. The cap is on connections, which means logins.
The caps
| Plan | Bank connections for your household |
|---|---|
| Free trial | 3 |
| Bussin | 7 |
| GOAT | 15 |
| A plan that has lapsed | No new connections |
- The cap is per household. Every member's connections count toward it.
- Custom accounts you type in by hand, and real estate you add, are not bank connections and do not count.
- If your plan goes down, connections above the new cap stay connected. You cannot add new ones until you are under the cap or upgrade.
- A bank that Shayr disconnected after a trial ended does not count. It shows a Disconnected label until you reconnect it.
How to see how many you have
Open Accounts. Each bank card is one connection, for example Demo Bank with its accounts listed under it.
The same bank twice
Shayr does not keep two connections to the same bank for one household. To fix a bank that stopped updating, use Reconnect a bank.
