The app is slow
The first screen after the app has been idle can take a few seconds while Shayr's servers wake up. Later screens are quick. If it stays slow, check your connection, update the app, and force close and reopen it.
Steps
Wait up to 5 seconds on the first open. The first request after a quiet period is the slowest one.
Check your connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular and try a web page.
Pull down to refresh the screen.
Update Shayr in the App Store. Newer versions are faster.
Force close Shayr (swipe it up from the app switcher) and reopen it.
Why it can be slow
- Shayr keeps recent data on your phone for quick display and refreshes it in the background. A fresh install or a long gap means more to load.
- Households with many accounts and years of transactions load more data.
- Search on Spend may show Loading more transactions while it fetches the rest of the last 365 days.
- Right after you link a bank, the first import can take a few minutes. See Link your first bank.

If something goes wrong
It says it could not load and offers Try again.
Tap it, or pull down. If it keeps failing, your connection or Shayr's servers may be down. Try again in a few minutes.
